RIDOC to Recognize Probation and Parole Community Partners

The Rhode Island Department of Corrections will hold a Probation and Parole Community Partnerships Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 28th, 2011, at the Philip W. Noel Judicial Complex (Kent County Courthouse) 3rd floor assembly room, at 10 a.m. Members of the press are encouraged to attend.

“We are grateful for this opportunity to recognize some of our Probation and Parole partners,” says Corrections Director Ashbel T. Wall. “The Corrections Department could not fulfill its mission of offender rehabilitation and community safety without them.”

Richard DelFino, Administrator of Probation and Parole, will provide an introduction for Director Wall, who will deliver welcoming remarks. Assistant Director of Rehabilitative Services Roberta Richman will preside over the presentation of awards. The awards will be presented by the regional Probation and Parole Supervisors who made the nominations.

Adult Probation and Parole is a community-based program within the RIDOC. It is the mission of Adult Probation and Parole to supervise offenders’ community activities, to expend all efforts to provide offenders with comprehensive services, and to monitor compliance of specially ordered conditions; thereby providing for rehabilitation of the offender, reintegration from the institutions, and protection of the community.
