Providence, RI - In his latest effort to speak to more Rhode Islanders directly about the important issue of comprehensive pension reform, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee today released a web video drawing on segments of his speech before a joint session of the Rhode Island General Assembly on October 18.
"The Governor recognizes that Rhode Islanders are getting their information from a variety of sources, including social networking sites and the internet," Communications Director Christine Hunsinger said. "The Governor also believes that this topic is one of the most serious challenges facing our state. Therefore, in an effort to reach the broadest possible audience, Governor Chafee has released this web video and has been meeting with local newspapers throughout the state emphasizing the need for comprehensive pension reform."
Governor Chafee met with the editorial boards of the Westerly Sun and Newport Daily News yesterday morning, and will continue to meet with editorial boards in the coming days.
