Attorney General and Department of Health Issue Notice of Public Informational Meeting Regarding the Sale of Landmark to Steward

The Rhode Island Department of Attorney General (RIAG) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) will hold public informational meetings concerning the proposed sale of Landmark Medical Center, and Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island, to Steward Health Care System, LLC and affiliated entities.

Pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-17.14-7(b)(3) of the "Hospital Conversions Act," RIAG and HEALTH must post notice of a public informational meeting within 30 working days upon receipt of a complete initial application for a hospital conversion. The initial application for a hospital conversion was accepted for review on January 17, 2012 and is available for review at: www.health.ri.gov/programs/hospitalconversionsmerger/.

The public is invited to attend the public informational meetings scheduled for Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Woonsocket City Hall, 169 Main Street, Woonsocket. Public comment will be accepted during the scheduled public informational meetings. The public informational meetings are scheduled for:

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. April 9, 2012

and

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. April 9, 2012

RIAG and HEALTH will also accept written comments. Comments must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012. Written comments may be submitted at the public informational meetings or may be forwarded to:
