HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

HEALTH officials recommended the closure of Hazard's Beach in Newport to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the area is safe for swimming.

The following licensed beach remains closed to swimming due to high bacteria counts: Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming.
