Barrington Town Beach Closed for Swimming; Middletown Beaches Open

HEALTH officials recommend re-opening Atlantic Beach Club Beach and Sachuest Beach in Middletown for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

HEALTH officials recommended the closure of Barrington Town Beach to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the area is safe for swimming.

The following licensed beach remains closed to swimming due to high bacteria counts: Oakland Beach in Warwick. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming.
