Traffic Advisory: Portion of Chestnut Street in Providence to Temporarily Close Next Week for Utility Work

Effective Tuesday, August 13, a portion of Chestnut Street in Providence, from Pine Street to Clifford Street, will close for National Grid utility work.

WHAT: National Grid will be preparing to build a new drainage structure along the roadway and upgrade the existing electrical system. This will help provide power to the new parcels of land being developed through the I-195 Relocation Project. They will also be digging trenches to install an underground duct system.

WHEN: From Tuesday, August 13, to Friday, August 23, 2013.

DETOUR: Motorists will follow a signed detour using Pine Street, East Franklin Street, Broad Street, West Franklin Street and Point Street.
