On August 14, 2013, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Laird Yard, age 33, of 27 Acorn Drive, Westerly, RI, on a Federal Warrant for Violation of Probation on an original charge of Possession of Firearm. Mr. Yard was turned over to the United States Marshals Service and arraigned in Providence Federal Court.
On August 14, 2013, a detective assigned to the ACI charged Rhode Island Training School resident Jovantey B. Mendes, age 18, having a last known address of 13 Orient Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with Felony Assault. Mr. Mendes appeared before the Honorable Judge Houlihan in Third Division District Court, where no plea was entered on the felony charge. Judge Houlihan set bail at $2,500.00 with surety. Mr. Mendes was also presented in Superior Court as a 32(f) Probation Violator. He was remanded to the custody of the ACI Intake Service Center pending the transfer of his sentence to the ACI. A pre-arraignment conference was scheduled for October 3, 2013.
On August 14, 2013, a detective assigned to the ACI charged Michael D. Bonds, age 46, having a last known address of 26 Mitchell Street, 2nd Floor, Providence, Rhode Island, with Escape from Correctional Institution. Mr. Bonds appeared before the Honorable Judge Houlihan in Third Division District Court where no plea was entered on the felony charge. Judge Houlihan set bail at $5,000 personal recognizance and remanded Mr. Bonds to the ACI Intake Service Center to continue serving his ninety (90) day sentence for Violation of a No Contact Order. A pre-arraignment conference was scheduled for October 3, 2013.
On August 14, 2013, members of the HIDTA Unit arrested Sony FELICIANO, age 36, of 91 Ledge Street, 3rd Floor, Central Falls, RI, for the following: 1) Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver; 2) Possession of Schedule IV; 3) Possession of Schedule III; 4) Possession of Firearm while Committing Controlled Substance Violation; and 5) Possession of Firearm after Previous Felony Conviction. Mr. Feliciano was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned in Sixth District Court, where he was ordered held without bail.
