Interstate Highway Restrictions
Weekend Lane and Exit Closures
Lincoln/North Smithfield: I-295 South, from the weigh station to Exit 9 (Rte. 146), right lane and shoulder closures for utility work, Saturday from 6-10 a.m. The on-ramp from Rte. 146 also will be narrowed at this time. Traffic entering from Rte. 146 South must yield to existing traffic on I-295.
Warwick: I-95 North, from Exit 8 (Quaker Lane) to the Rte. 4 North merge, and Rte. 4 South from I-95 South to Exit 8 (Division St.), left lane and right shoulder closures for a bridge inspection, during the early morning hours Sunday from 3-9 a.m.
Exit and Ramp Closures
Pawtucket: Exit 28 (School St.) off of I-95 North will be closed for construction, Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour.
Providence: Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.) off of I-95 South will be closed for electrical work during the early morning hours Sunday and Monday from midnight to 5 a.m. Follow signed detour.
Providence: Exit 22 (Downtown/Rtes. 6 & 10/Providence Place Mall) off of I-95 South will be closed for electrical work during the early morning hours Tuesday from 1-4 a.m. Follow signed detour.
Providence: The off-ramp from Rtes. 6/10 East to I-95 South will be closed for demolition during the early morning hours Monday-Friday from 1-4 a.m. Follow signed detour.
Providence: The on-ramps to I-95 North from both Rtes. 6/10 East and Memorial Blvd. will be closed for sign installation at the Providence Place Mall, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day. Also, the left lane on Rtes. 6/10 East will be closed at this time. Follow detour using Memorial Blvd, Sabin St./Broadway and Atwells Ave.
Lane Closures
Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 27 (Downtown) to Exit 29 (Broadway), various lane closures for construction, Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 25 (Smithfield Ave.) to Exit 29 (Broadway), alternating lane and shoulder closures for a bridge inspection, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
I-95 North: Wednesday night
I-95 South: Thursday night
Providence: The off-ramp from Rtes. 6/10 West to I-95 North will be closed for demolition Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour.
Providence: I-95 North and South, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146) to Exit 25 (Smithfield Ave.), lane closures for a bridge inspection, Monday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
I-95 North: Monday: left and middle lane closures, Tuesday: right lane closure
I-95 South: Wednesday: left and center lane closures, Thursday: right lane closure on I-95 South
Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Exit 9 (Rte. 4) to Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.), alternating lane closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Roads above or below the highway also may have intermittent lane closures.
Warwick: I-95 North and South at Cowesett Rd., alternating lane and shoulder closures for a bridge inspection, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
Warwick to Providence: I-95 North and South, from I-295 to Rte. 146, striping will occur in a moving operation on the on-and off-ramps, Sunday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
