Rhode Island State Police Training Academy to Graduate 36 in Ceremony at Rhode Island College

The Rhode Island State Police Training Academy will graduate 36 new troopers in a Commencement Ceremony on:

Friday, December 13, 2013 1:00 p.m. Recreation Center Rhode Island College Providence, Rhode Island

The 36 new troopers began 22 weeks of intensive, paramilitary training in July. The training included rigorous academic and physical fitness components. The recruits were selected from over 1,600 applicants. We are proud of the 36 graduates and invite you to join us in welcoming them into the ranks of the Rhode Island State Police.

The Honorable Lincoln D. Chafee, Governor of the State of Rhode Island, Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police, the Honorable Peter F. Kilmartin, Attorney General for Rhode Island, and the Honorable Peter F. Neronha, United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island, will address the graduates. Retired Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police, Colonel Edmond S. Culhane, Jr. will give the keynote address. Governor Chafee and Colonel O'Donnell will present the graduates will their diplomas, and Colonel O'Donnell will administer the oath of office.

The ceremony will also include an Inspection of the class, remarks by a member of the Recruit Training Academy Class, a video presentation, and presentation of class awards.
