Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported March 25, 2014)

February 17, 2014 Providence Police Officer Involved Shooting The Providence County Grand Jury completed its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of Dari Garcia by one member of the Providence Police Department on February 17, 2014. The Grand Jury determined the actions by the Officer were lawful and legally justified.

Andrew Jett, DOB: 2/11/59 LKA, 71 Metacomet Avenue East Providence, RI P1-2014-0803A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Andrew Jett with one count of murder. It is alleged that on or about dates between August 21, 2012 and August 24, 2012, Andrew Jett murdered Michelle Busby. The alleged incident took place in East Providence.

The East Providence Police conducted the investigation. Jett is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 16, 2014.

Courtney Fontes, DOB: 9/9/86 115 Alston Street Providence, RI P1-2014-0804A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Courtney Fontes with one count of first degree robbery. It is alleged that Fontes robbed an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree, on or about January 20, 2013 in Providence.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Fontes is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 16, 2014.

Darcy Forbes, DOB: 4/1/86 105 Burnett Street Providence, RI P1-2014-0805B

Christian Soto, DOB: 10/4/91 12 Sue Street Warwick, RI P1-2014-0805C

Brian Texeira, DOB: 2/26/83 619 Douglas Avenue Providence, RI P1-2014-0805D

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Nelson Morales, Darcy Forbes, Christian Soto and Brian Texeira each with one count of first degree robbery and conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about April 18, 2013, Morales, Forbes, Soto, and Texeira conspired to rob and did rob an individual, in the first degree. The alleged incident took place in Providence. The Providence Police conducted the investigation.

Morales, Forbes, Soto and Texeira are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 14, 2014.
