Flood Warning for Rhode Island

National Weather Service Issues Flood Warning for Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency is alerting all Rhode Islanders that the National Weather Service has issued the following: - Flash Flood Warning for Bristol County, Kent County, Newport County and Providence County until 11:45am. - Flood Warning for Washington County.

RIVERS: Rhode Island has received 2.5 to 5 inches of rain. Expect minor low land flooding on the lower Pawcatuck River in the Westerly area and along the Pawtuxet River in the areas of Cranston and Warwick.

TRAVELING CONDITIONS: Rapid and potentially flooding of small streams and roadways is imminent. Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and avoid ponding water on the roadways.

RIEMA OPERATIONS: RIEMA will monitor weather conditions and state activities for any flood-related issues. RIEMA will continue to receive updates from the National Weather Service and coordinate with state agencies and local emergency management directors.
