State Police to Announce Full Deployment of Narcan to Troopers--PRESS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner/Director of Public Safety, announces that there will be a press conference on:

Members of the media are cordially invited. The press conference is to announce the full deployment of Narcan kits to members of the Rhode Island State Police. This is in response to the epidemic of drug overdose deaths in Rhode Island this year. Narcan counteracts the effects of opioid overdoses.

Speakers at the press conference are Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police; Michael Fine, M.D., Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health; and a man who is currently in recovery, whose life was saved as a result of the administration of Narcan.
