Rhode Island State Police Arrest Two Subjects for Breaking and Entering into a Dwelling and Conspiracy to Break and Enter

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announces that on Friday, August 1, 2014, Troopers assigned to the Hope Valley Barracks responded to a Breaking and Entering call at a residence located on New London Turnpike, in the Town of Exeter. The victim, who interrupted the break into the residence, was able to provide a registration plate of a vehicle that was parked outside of the residence as well as a description of two suspects. With that information and additional information gathered during their investigation, troopers were able to positively identify the two subjects involved which resulted in the arrest of a male and female, both from the Town of Coventry.

The female identified as Jennifer L. Mignacca, age 34 of 486 Fairview Avenue, Coventry, Rhode Island was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace on the following charges:

Breaking and Entering into a Dwelling
Conspiracy to Break and Enter
Obstruction of Justice

The male, identified as Vincent J. Derrico, age 37 of 486 Fairview Avenue, Coventry, Rhode Island was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace on the following charges:

Breaking and Entering into a Dwelling
Conspiracy to Break and Enter

After being arraigned Mignacca could not post the $20,000 with surety bail ($2,000 cash) and was turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution pending a bail review at 4th Division District court on Monday, August 4, 2014.

During his arraignment in front of the Justice of the Peace, Derrico, who was on probation for a prior breaking and entering charge, was presented by a member of the Attorney General's Office as a Probation Violator and was also turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution. He will be brought into 4th Division District Court on Monday, August 4, 2014 to be formally presented as a Probation Violator.
