Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea and State Representative K. Joseph Shekarchi will host an information meeting at the Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Lane in Warwick, on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 1PM to explain changes to the voting process resulting from the elimination of straight-party (master lever) voting.
RI General Law 17-19-10.1 calls on the Secretary of State to conduct community outreach aimed at educating the public, including the elderly, with respect to the absence of straight-party voting. This meeting will be the first in a series of voter education and outreach meetings that the Secretary of State will be conducting in communities across Rhode Island.
