Raimondo Nominates Sandra Matrone Mack to the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority Board of Directors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo today announced her intent to nominate Sandra Matrone Mack, Esq. to the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority Board of Directors. Raimondo will submit her name to the Rhode Island State Senate for confirmation.

"I'm focused on expanding opportunities for all Rhode Islanders," said Raimondo. "A good education sets our students on a path to success and unmet financial needs should not stand in their way. I am pleased Sandy has agreed to lend her time and expertise to provide solutions to expand college access and affordability."

"I am a firm believer that for our state to move forward and prosper, we need to expand the opportunity for an affordable quality education," said Matrone Mack. "As a mother of four children applying to, in, and graduated from college, I know how a successful education can impact young adults. I am honored to serve on the Student Loan Authority and hope that my background in public finance and corporate law will be helpful in this important endeavor."

Matrone Mack will be replacing Dennis Duffy who resigned from his position earlier this year.

"I also want to thank Dennis Duffy for his dedication to the state while he served on the Board of Directors, and I wish him the very best," added Raimondo.
