"I want to thank Chairman Keable and the members of the House Judiciary Committee for recommending passage of H 6051 Sub A, the Voting and Elections Modernization Act of 2015, yesterday. This legislation, sponsored by Representatives Regunberg, Handy, Keable, Blazejewski and Barros, empowers Rhode Islanders by increasing their voting participation. It will allow Rhode Islanders to quickly and securely register to vote online, and update their voter information when they move. It will also help clean up our voter rolls, reduce paperwork, prevent fraud and save taxpayer dollars. This is an important step forward to engaging and empowering all Rhode Islanders. I urge the General Assembly to pass this important legislation."
