Attorney General Kilmartin Reports on Compliance by Prime Healthcare Services in Conversion of Landmark Medical Center

As required in the conditions set forth by the Office of Attorney General in Hospital Conversions Act decision in the acquisition of Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island (Landmark) by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. (Prime Healthcare), Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin today released an update on the compliance of those conditions by Prime.

The Office of Attorney General required a monitor to conduct a thorough review to ensure Prime Healthcare was in compliance with the list of conditions set forth in the approval relative to its acquisition of Landmark. Affiliated Monitors, Inc., the designated monitor, reported its findings to the Office of Attorney General on October 16, 2015.

After reviewing the compliance report, Attorney General Kilmartin was pleased with the progress Prime Healthcare has made to date in the turnaround of Landmark, noting, "Based on the findings, it appears the situation at Landmark has stabilized, and Prime Healthcare has thus far followed through on their commitment to making a significant investment in the facility, and maintaining quality healthcare services to the community."
