Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported February 4, 2016)

Carlos Ramos (age 27) 12 Courtland Street Providence, RI P1-2016-0355AG
Dennise Melendez-Vega (age 23) 190 Laurel Hill Avenue Providence, RI P1-2016-0355BG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Carlos Ramos and Dennise Melendez-Vega each with one count of first degree robbery, one count of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about November 23, 2015, Ramos and Melendez-Vega robbed an individual at gun point. The alleged incident took place in Providence.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Both defendants are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on February 11, 2016.

Marilyn Wasowski (age 67) 301 Cranston Street Providence, RI P1-2016-0356A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Marilyn Wasowski with one count of first degree arson. It is alleged that on or about January 21, 2016, Wasowski intentionally set fire to a building located at 301 Cranston Street in Providence.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Wasowski is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on February 24, 2016.

James Smith (age 39) 380 Allens Avenue North Attleboro, MA P1-2016-0357A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging James Smith with one count of first degree arson, three counts of fourth degree arson, and one count of larceny over $1,500.

It is alleged that on or about November 15, 2015, Smith intentionally set fire to a building located at 60 East Transit Street in Providence. It is further alleged that on or about the same day, Smith set fire to a 2011 Ford Ranger, a fence, and a 12-foot long kayak, and stole a motor vehicle.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Smith is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on February 24, 2016.

Julio Sosa (age 27) 10 Sybaris Street Providence, RI P1-2016-0358A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Julio Sosa with three counts of first degree child molestation. It is alleged that on or about dates between August 1, 2013 and October 31, 2014, Sosa molested a girl 14 years of age or under.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Sosa is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on February 24, 2016.

Kwame Colon (age 19) 9 Welfare Avenue Cranston, RI P1-2016-0359A
Jaylen Johnson (age 18) 431 Auburn Street Cranston, RI P1-2016-0359B

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Kwame Colon and Jaylen Johnson each with one count of first degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of simple assault.

It is alleged that on or about November 6, 2015, Colon and Johnson assaulted and robbed an individual in Cranston.

The Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Colon and Johnson are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on February 24, 2016.
