PROVIDENCE, RI -- General Treasurer Seth Magaziner today provided the following statement regarding funding in the signed FY2017 State budget for stronger debt management and oversight:
"I thank Governor Gina M. Raimondo, House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello, Senate President M. Teresa Paiva Weed and the members of the General Assembly for providing the Treasurer's Office with resources to strengthen the management and oversight of public debt in Rhode Island. Through our shared commitment to responsible debt management, we will strengthen the oversight of debt issued by municipalities and quasi-public agencies as well as the State."
