Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported November 15, 2016)

Jose Morales (age 22) 141 General St. Providence, RI P1-2016-3255AG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jose Morales with one count of murder, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. It is alleged that on or about June 18, 2016, Morales shot and killed Kiplagott Stewart, Jr., and shot at John Northup. The alleged incident took place in Providence.

The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation. Morales is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 22, 2016.

Ernest Keosouphanh (age 19) 525 Dyer Ave., Apt. A5 Cranston, RI P1-2016-3256AG

Davon Silva (age 20) 825 Plainfield Street Providence, RI P1-2016-3256BG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Ernest Keosouphanh with one count of murder, two counts of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of altering the identification mark on a firearm, and one count of conspiracy. The Grand Jury also indicted Davon Silva with one count of conspiracy to commit felony assault.

It is alleged that on or about May 15, 2016, Keosouphanh shot and killed Hernan Avilla, Jr. and shot and injured Hernan Avilla, III.

The alleged incident took place in North Providence and the North Providence Police conducted the investigation. The defendants are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 22, 2016 before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause.

Jose Medina (age 43) 17 West Main Road Newport, RI P1-2016-3257A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jose Medina with one count of murder. It is alleged that on or about May 9, 2016, Medina stabbed and killed Patrick Douglas. The alleged incident took place in Providence.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Medina is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on December 7, 2016.
