PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 5:30 p.m., Lt. Governor Daniel J. McKee and Kristin Urbach of the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce will host the first Advance RI Small Business Forum at The Carriage Inn & Saloon, 1065 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown.
The evening will begin with networking followed by a 30-minute panel discussion moderated by McKee. Panelists will discuss resources available to the small business community, highlight efforts currently underway to boost business friendliness and provide firsthand accounts of running a small business in Rhode Island.
Panelists include: Liz Dolan, Economic Development Manager, Town of North Kingstown; Janelle Feigley, Owner, Gossip Boutique; David Levesque, Owner and President, Brewed Awakenings; Michael McElroy, Esq, Partner, Schacht & McElroy, Liz Tanner, Vice President of Client Services, Commerce RI and Kristin Urbach, Executive Director, North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce.
Following the panel discussion, Urbach will facilitate a 30-minute open forum to allow audience members—local small business owners, elected officials, community members—to ask questions and share their ideas on how to make doing business easier in Rhode Island.
The event will be televised on the next episode of McKee's new television show, "Advance RI." The show airs Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. on Cox Channel 13, Verizon Channel 32 and Full Channel 49 and on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. on Cox Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 31.
"Small business is so important to the State of Rhode Island, but as someone who's owned small business, I know it is not always an easy job. That's why as Lieutenant Governor, I am always looking for ways to give Rhode Islanders, especially small business owners, a voice," said McKee.
