Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported May 26, 2017)

Alberto Rivera (age 41) 41 Hillwood Avenue Cranston, RI P1-2017-1382AG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Alberto Rivera with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling with the intent to commit murder, one count of burglary, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of possession of a firearm having been previously convicted of a crime of violence, and one count of possession of a firearm without a license.

It is alleged that on or about December 4, 2016, Rivera broke into a residence on Lowell Street in Providence and shot the occupant. It is further alleged that Rivera assaulted another occupant of the residence.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Rivera is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on May 31, 2017.

Eduardo Alvarado (age 27) 3 Houston Street Providence, RI P1-2017-1383AG
Manuel Delacruz (age 20) No permanent address P1-2017-1383-BG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Eduardo Alvarado and Manuel Delacruz each with one count of first degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about March 1, 2017, Alvarado and Delacruz conspired to and did commit robbery with a firearm. The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation.

Alvarado and Delacruz are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on May 31, 2017.

James Stevens (age 29) 469 Pine Street Providence, RI P1-2017-1384A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging James Stevens with one count of first degree murder.

It is alleged that on December 10, 2016, Stevens stabbed Jasper Williams, which resulted in Williams' death on December 12, 2016.

The alleged incident took place in East Providence and the East Providence Police conducted the investigation. Stevens is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 14, 2017.

Napoleao Pires (age 25) 50 Comstock Street Pawtucket, RI P1-2017-1385A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Napoleao Pires with two counts of first degree robbery, one count of second degree robbery, and one count of simple assault.

It is alleged that on or about November 18, 2016, Pires robbed a person in the first and second degree and assaulted a second individual. The alleged incident took place in Lincoln and the Lincoln Police conducted the investigation.

Pires is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 14, 2017.

Leroy Wilson (age 42) 24 Blodgett Avenue Pawtucket, RI P1-2017-1386ADV

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Leroy Wilson with one count of first degree sexual assault domestic. It is alleged that on or about December 6, 2016, Wilson sexually assaulted a woman with whom he was in a domestic relationship.

The alleged incident took place in Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Police conducted the investigation. Wilson is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 14, 2017.

Michael Young (age 21) 21L Woodward Street Cumberland, RI P1-2017-1387A
Isaac Soto-Perez (age 23) 24 Woodward Street Cumberland, RI P1-2017-1387B

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Michael Young and Isaac Soto-Perez each with one count of conspiracy, one count of first degree robbery, and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. Soto-Perez was also indicated on one count of possession of a prohibited weapon being a stun gun.

It is alleged that on or about November 29, 2016, Young and Soto-Perez conspired to and did commit robbery at gun point, which police later determined to be a stun gun.

The alleged incident took place in Cumberland and the Cumberland Police conducted the investigation. Young and Soto-Perez are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 14, 2017.

Pablo Mendoza (age 27) 140 Althea Street Providence, RI P1-2017-13788A

The Providence County Grand Jury returned a secret indictment charging Pablo Mendoza with one count of murder. It is alleged that on March 21, 2014, Mendoza assaulted Luis Belmont, whom succumbed to his injuries on March 31, 2014.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Mendoza is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 14, 2017.
