Please note: An indictment, information, or complaint is merely an allegation. The U.S. Constitution guarantees that a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Ezekial Johnson (age 27) 828 Main Street Pawtucket, RI P1-2017-3082AG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out a secret indictment charging Ezekial Johnson with one count of murder, one count of discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of carrying a firearm without a license.

It is alleged that on or about July 16, 2007, Johnson shot and killed 42-year-old Jose Rodriguez, who was working as a cab driver at the time of his murder. It is alleged that he picked up Johnson and others in Providence and drove them to Central Falls, at which time Johnson shot him.

The indictment was announced when Johnson was brought in from the ACI this morning to be arraigned in Providence Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause. He was ordered held without bail. Johnson is currently serving a sentence for domestic assault charges to which he pleaded nolo contendere earlier this year.
