CRANSTON, RI — The netWORKri One-Stop Career Center located at 1330 Main Street, West Warwick, is closed today because of the overnight wind storm and subsequent power outage affecting Kent County and other parts of Rhode Island. It will reopen as soon as power is restored.
Ordinarily, this office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
The four one-stop centers run by the Department of Labor and Training (DLT) are conduits connecting job seekers looking for jobs and employers looking for qualified workers. The centers offer job seekers reemployment services such as how to conduct a skills assessment and a job search, write a résumé, prepare for a job interview, and access training opportunities through Real Jobs RI and other programs. For employers, DLT's Business Workforce Center can arrange small-scale recruitments or large-scale job fairs at the career centers. DLT offers these services at no cost.
About the RI Department of Labor and Training: The RI Department of Labor and Training (DLT) offers employment services, educational services, and economic opportunity to both individuals and employers. DLT protects Rhode Island's workforce by enforcing labor laws, prevailing wage rates, and workplace health and safety standards. The department also provides temporary income support to unemployed and temporarily disabled workers. DLT's Business Workforce Center simplifies doing business in RI by coordinating job fairs, pre-screening applicants, and connecting employers with innovative methods to remain or become competitive.
