Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported May 1, 2018)

Bobby Ambers (age 35) 560 Prospect Street, Apt. 39 Pawtucket, RI P1-2018-1065AG
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Bobby Ambers with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, domestic; assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, first degree robbery, domestic; first degree robbery, assault with intent to commit sexual assault, domestic; breaking and entering, domestic; and conspiracy, and two counts of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about August 7, 2016, Ambers, along with two unidentified males, broke into the home of a male and a female, robbed them both at gunpoint, and assaulted them. It is further alleged that he tried to sexually assault the woman, also at gunpoint.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Ambers is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 9, 2018.

Anthony Deburgo (age 28) 494 Woonasquatucket Avenue, A-10 North Providence, RI P1-2018-1066A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Anthony Deburgo with one count of first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and breaking and entering.

It is alleged that on or about July 10, 2017, Deburgo broke into the home of a man, assaulted him using a knife with brass knuckles, and robbed him.

The alleged incident took place in Burrillville and Burrillville Police conducted the investigation. Deburgo is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 23, 2018.

Elvis Veras Acevedo (age 18) 58 Weston Avenue Cranston, RI P1-2018-1067A
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Elvis Veras Acevedo with one count of first degree robbery and conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about February 12, 2018, Acevedo, with two juvenile co-conspirators, robbed a man in the first degree.

The alleged incident took place in Cranston and the Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Acevedo is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 23, 2018.

Charles Vanover (age 48) 1089 Lonsdale Ave., 1st Central Falls, RI P1-2018-1068B
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Troy Isom and Charles Vanover with each with one count of burglary, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, and breaking and entering.

It is alleged that on or about January 28, 2018, Isom and Vanover conspired to and did burglarize a home in Johnston.

The Johnston Police conducted the investigation. Isom and Vanover are both scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 23, 2018.

Timothy Hunter (age 30) 530 Kinsley Avenue, Apt. 206 Providence, RI P1-2018-1069C
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Derek Araujo, Joseph Sessine, and Timothy Hunter each with one count of possession of more than five kilos of marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to deliver, and four counts of conspiring to violate the Rhode Island Uniform Controlled Substances Act (RIUCSA). In addition, Araujo and Hunter were each charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

It is alleged that on or about November 4, 2017, Araujo, Sessine, and Hunter were found to be in illegal possession of more than five kilos of marijuana and THC. It is further alleged that Araujo and Hunter delivered more than five kilos of marijuana and THC to Sessine, in violation of the RIUCSA.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence and the Rhode Island State Police, with assistance from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted the investigation. Araujo, Sessine and Hunter are all scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 23, 2018.

Elizabeth Figuiera (age 22) 565 High Street, 1st Central Falls, RI P1-2018-1070D

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Cristina Aponte, Peggy Colon and Elizabeth Figuiera each with one count of first degree robbery and conspiracy. Additionally, Aponte was charged with one count of simple assault and Colon was charged with two counts of simple assault.

It is alleged that on or about December 8, 2017, Aponte, Colon and Figuiera, along with an unidentified individual, conspired to rob and did rob and assault a woman.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Aponte, Colon and Figuiera are all scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 23, 2018.
