Traffic Advisory: Railroad Avenue Bridge in Burrillville Closes June 26

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) today announced that it will close Railroad Avenue Bridge in Burrillville on Tuesday, June 26 for a four-month replacement. Railroad Avenue Bridge is structurally deficient.

Railroad Avenue Bridge carries Railroad Avenue over the Clear River. The new bridge will be a single span composite arch structure with granite curb and steel railings. As RIDOT replaces this bridge it will also put in new drainage systems, traffic signage, and erosion controls.

The construction is timed to coordinate with the Department of Environmental Management's low-flow period from July 1 to October 31. Approximately 200 vehicles cross this bridge daily.

The total cost for this project is $3.6 million.

Portions of the Harrisville-Pascoag Pedestrian Path will be closed only while the sewer work is underway.
