October 22, 2019 WARNING: DHS was notified today by a customer that he had received a telephone call from a person whose Caller ID number reflected the DHS toll free number (1-855-697-4347). The caller may have identified themselves as working for DHS, and attempted to obtain personal and financial information from the DHS customer informing them they won a cash prize. If a RI DHS telephone number appears on your caller ID, please ask for the employees name and for them to provide your account number before providing any personal or financial information. If the caller cannot provide your account number hang up immediately. Instead, call our Department back to confirm if our staff is reaching out to you regarding your application or case.
