May I obtain a new license online?
No. You must obtain your new license by mail or in person at the Department of Environmental Management, Office of Boat Registration & Licensing.
How often do I need to renew my marine license?
The marine license year is January 1, =current_licensing_year();?> through December 31, =current_licensing_year();?>. The renewal period for all commercial licenses is January 1 through February 28, annually. License fees are not pro-rated and are non-refundable.
What is the RI Interactive Price?
Conducting business online through RI.gov is voluntary, and the RI Interactive price may be higher than the underlying financial obligation owed to the associated government entity. If you do not wish to pay the RI Interactive price, you can choose to conduct your business directly with the state or municipality. If I give my credit card information online is it safe?
RI.gov takes your privacy and security seriously. Our technology and policies are designed to make your transactions safe, private and secure.
Our secure socket layer software uses encryption to protect the transmittal of all information you send to our online application.
Will you sell my information to telemarketers?
No. We are just as concerned about ensuring your safety as you are. RI.gov will not trade, rent, or sell your personal or financial information.
