This service will allow you to apply for a Flashing Light Permit. It is important that you provide accurate address information, as all approved permits and stickers will be sent to the address on file. Please note that not all registration types are eligible to apply for permits through this service. If your personal vehicle's registration type is not included in the service, please contact dmv.enforcement@dmv.ri.gov for assistance.
Please note that applicants for Red Flashing Light Permits for personal vehicles must go through https://rifirechiefs.com/.
Permits requested prior to December 1st of this year will be valid for the remainder of the current calendar year only. They will expire on December 31st of this year.
Applications for permit renewals for the new calendar year will begin on December 1st.
To use this service with RI DMV, you will need:
- Your vehicle's registration information
- Light information, including light location and use
- A credit or debit card
