Rhode Island State Offices to Remain Open on Monday

As of Sunday evening, Rhode Island state agencies will remain open for at least first shift on Monday, October 29. Managers at individual agencies may determine adequate staffing levels, and use their discretion to allow workers to stay home or to go home early. Those state employees who stay home or leave early are required to discharge vacation or personal time. Employees should contact their supervisors to discuss individual situations. Second- and third-shift state workers should also plan on attending work pending any new notification.

Governor Lincoln D. Chafee states, "It is especially important that those state agencies which provide 24-hour services remain operational during this weather event." The Governor adds that he will continue to monitor conditions very closely and will make adjustments to the current staffing plan if the situation warrants.
