Interim Report of the Statewide Grand Jury (Reported March 20, 2013)

The Statewide Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Christopher Souza with one count of first degree domestic assault, breaking and entering, domestic assault by strangulation, domestic vandalism and two counts of violation of a domestic no contact order.

It is alleged that on or about December 22, 2102, Souza strangled a women with whom he was previously engaged in a domestic relationship, at which time he also damaged the victim's property. It is further alleged that on or about December 26, 2012, Souza violated a no contact order when he broke into the victim's residence and sexually assaulted her, with the assault being in the first degree. Souza allegedly violated the no contact order again on December 27, 2012.

The alleged incidents took place in Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Police conducted the investigation. Souza is currently held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 10, 2013.
