Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts' Statement on Commisioner Koller's Departure

Lt. Governor Roberts expressed her gratitude and congratulations to Rhode Island's Health Insurance Commissioner Chris Koller who has announced that he will be leaving Rhode Island in July to lead the Millbank Memorial Fund as its President.

"Commissioner Koller has laid the groundwork for the most important health care reforms under way in Rhode Island. During his previous service at Neighborhood Health Plan and in his role as our first Health Insurance Commissioner, he has never wavered from a focus on assuring access to high quality affordable health care for all Rhode Islanders. Commissioner Koller will be sorely missed by all of his partners, in and out of government, in health reform. His commitment to strengthening primary care and ensuring affordability form the basis for the major transformation in health care under way in Rhode Island.

I look forward to continuing to benefit from Commissioner Koller's leadership and expertise in the coming months as he concludes the crucially important health insurance rate reviews being conducted for the first time under the provisions of the Accountable Care Act. We wish him the best as he takes on an even larger national leadership role in health care reform in July."
