Certain Rhode Island public officials and employees, and candidates for elected office, are required to file a financial disclosure statement with the Ethics Commission. On the state level, all elected officials and candidates, most appointed officials, and employees holding certain major decision-making positions must file. On the Municipal level, all elected officials and candidates, and some appointed officials, must file.
Financial statements are due the last week of April each year, and always cover the prior calendar year. This means that the current year’s statement will not be filed until next year. We are currently providing online access to the most recently filed statements, which cover calendar year 2017. In May of 2019 we will make the 2018 statements available on this site. All statements filed for prior years are available via email or regular mail by contacting the Ethics Commission at ethics.email@ethics.ri.gov or (401) 222-3790.
First, check to make sure your spelling is correct. If the search shows no results, that person may not be required to file a financial statement or may not have filed yet. You can check both issues by contacting the Ethics Commission at ethics.email@ethics.ri.gov or (401) 222-3790.
