Welcome to the initial phase of Treasury's Online Checkbook. This website brings Treasury expenditures to the public in a format that's easily accessible and familiar to anyone who has used online banking. We believe firmly that transparency, and the accountability it inspires, are not just good for government, but good for Rhode Island.
This pilot project achieves a key priority of my administration. It also represents a truly collaborative effort among the offices of Treasury, the Department of Administration, and RI.gov, which have worked to build this website at no cost to the public. We encourage other state agencies, municipal governments and other departments to join the project.
What you will see now are all of Treasury's Accounts Payable expenditures as they are made to third parties. Additionally, we have included annual budgeted salary data. We will make a best effort to have accurate information available and are working to develop enhanced features to continually improve visitors' use of the site.
