The Providence County Grand Jury today handed up an indictment naming Ana Echavarria on one count of 1st degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, two counts of entering with the intent to commit larceny, and one count of larceny over $500. It is alleged that on or about April 7, 2009, Echavarria conspired to do an unlawful act, to wit, commit robbery, and did rob a victim in the 1st degree. It is alleged that on or about that same date, the defendant twice entered an apartment with the intent to commit larceny and that she did steal, from that apartment, items valued at more than $500. All of the alleged incidents occurred in Providence. Providence Police conducted the investigation. The defendant will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 4, 2009.

Edwin Valentin, DOB: 5/30/63 15 Watson Street, 3rd Central Falls, RI P1/2009-3071A

The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment today naming Edwin Valentin on two counts of 2nd degree child molestation and two counts of 1st degree child molestation. It is alleged that between the dates of January 1, 2005 and July 28, 2009, Valentin committed two crimes of 2nd degree child molestation and two crimes of 1st degree child molestation on a victim or victims 14 years of age or under. All of the alleged incidents took place in Central Falls. Central Falls Police conducted the investigation. The defendant will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 4, 2009.

Keven Fernandes, DOB: 1/22/88 225 Narragansett Avenue Providence, RI P1/2009-3072A

The Providence County Grand Jury today handed up an indictment naming Keven Fernandes on one count of 1st degree robbery. It is alleged that Fernandes robbed a victim in the 1st degree on or about August 15, 2009, in Providence. Providence Police conducted the investigation. The defendant will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 4, 2009. -MORE-

Stephen Gorton, DOB: 7/25/75 37 Parkis Street Providence, RI P1/2009-3073A

The Providence County Grand Jury today handed up an indictment naming Stephen Gorton on one count of 1st degree robbery, domestic, and one count of assaulting a person over the age of 60, domestic. It is alleged that on or about March 11, 2009, Gorton robbed a victim in the 1st degree and that he knowingly committed assault and battery on a victim over the age of 60, causing bodily injury. Both of the alleged incidents occurred in Providence. Providence Police conducted the investigation. Gorton will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on November 4, 2009.
