AG Lynch statement on retirement and next career step of RI State Police Lieutenant Colonel Steven O’Donnell

Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch today issued the following statement on the retirement of Rhode Island State Police Lieutenant Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell:

“All of us in Rhode Island can be grateful for the outstanding service of Lieutenant Colonel Steve O’Donnell throughout his distinguished 23-year career with our Rhode Island State Police. As a young prosecutor, I had the great opportunity to learn from him when he, too, was coming up through the ranks, and I feel privileged to call him a friend. Lieutenant Colonel O’Donnell’s accomplishments in law enforcement are many and storied, and his high level of service to us will always be celebrated. I know he will continue to forge a path of integrity as the next United States Marshal for the District of Rhode Island, and I acknowledge President Obama for his wisdom in appointing him to serve in this important capacity.”
