The Kent County Grand Jury handed up an indictment today naming Richard Marold on one count of kidnapping a minor with the intent to molest, one count of assault with intent to commit first-degree child molestation and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. It is alleged that on or about July 27, 2009, Marold kidnapped a minor under the age of 16 with the intent to commit first-degree child molestation, and that he assaulted a minor with the intent to commit first-degree child molestation. It is alleged that on or about that same date, Marold assaulted a minor with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a knife. All of the alleged incidents occurred in Warwick. Warwick Police conducted the investigation. Marold, who is currently held without bail at the ACI, will be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Dec. 4, 2009.
