PROVIDENCE— Lt. Gov. Elizabeth H. Roberts praised today’s announcement of the new appointments to the board of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (EDC). “The primary focus of state leaders must be job creation,” said Lt. Governor Roberts. “Today’s appointments to the EDC represent a new way forward, with innovative thinkers and small business success stories leading the rebuilding of our economy.” “I look forward to working with Director Stokes and the new board of the EDC to focus on the job of helping entrepreneurs succeed, supporting home-grown small businesses as they strive to become tomorrow’s big businesses, and ensuring that every corporation knows that Rhode Island is a great place to do business,” Roberts continued. Roberts chairs the Rhode Island Small Business Advocacy Council, bringing together small business owners and support organizations to develop solutions for small business in Rhode Island.
