Ethics Commission Meeting April 20, 2010
At the 8th meeting of the Commission in 2010, the Commission issued the following advisory opinions:
A.O. 2010-19 to Greg Yalanis, R.A., an alternate member of the Newport Zoning Board of Review, opining that he may appear before the Zoning Board regarding an appeal of the denial of a building permit to refurbish space within a residential rental property for commercial rental use, based on the Commission's application of the hardship exception found at R.I. Gen. Laws § 36-14-5(e)(1) .
The Commission received updates on the matters of In re: Brenda K. Gaynor, Complaint No. 2001-32 and In re: Aisha W. Abdullah-Odiase, Complaint Nos. 2001-34 & NF2002-1.
The Commission had discussion re: General Commission Advisory (GCA) Opinion No. 8 - Architect Members of State and Local Historic Preservation Commissions Appearing before their Respective Agencies.
The Commission received a legislative update from staff.
