Wickford Junction Train Station Groundbreaking Scheduled for August 18

Governor Donald L. Carcieri, Senator Jack Reed and Congressman James Langevin will join RIDOT Director Michael P. Lewis and other Federal, State and local officials to break ground on the Wickford Junction Train Station. The event, featuring Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Administrator Peter Rogoff, will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Wickford Junction, 1051 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown.

The Wickford Junction Train Station is a critical component of South County Commuter Rail expansion in Rhode Island. With commuter service provided by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), the station will ultimately link to Providence and Boston, MA with an additional stop at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-95 South to Route 4 South to Exit 5A (Route 102 South/Wickford). Follow Route 102 South through three lights. Take a left at the fourth light into Wickford Junction. Proceed to the Gazebo with the red caboose just prior to Walmart for the event. Parking is available throughout the complex.
