Chafee Names Transition Leadership Team, Transition Advisory Committee

Providence, R.I.—Governor-elect Lincoln D. Chafee today named Patrick A. Rogers, a partner at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, LLP, as Chairman of his gubernatorial transition team. “I am pleased that Patrick Rogers will spearhead the transition effort,” Governor-elect Chafee said. “Pat has a long record of public service and strong leadership and organizational skills. I am confident that he will do a fine job directing the transition effort.”

Governor-elect Chafee also appointed today four initial members of his Transition Advisory Committee to work with Chairman Rogers: Helena Buonanno Foulkes, Pablo Rodriguez M.D., Meg Curran, and Robert A. Walsh, Jr.

“One of my goals as governor is to attract outstanding talent to public service: smart, hard-working and energetic leaders to bring new ideas to state government,” Chafee said. “These initial members of my Transition Advisory Committee are proven leaders in their respective fields of expertise, and I thank them for their service and welcome their assistance to help Rhode Island realize its full potential.”

Governor-elect Chafee announced today the members of his transition leadership team: Stephen Hourahan, Transition Director; Michael Trainor, Deputy Transition Director; Jonathan Stevens, Director of Transition Policy; and Judge Stephen Erickson, Transition Legislative Liaison/Legal Adviser. The team, chaired by Rogers, will oversee all transition activities.

“I am proud and encouraged to have such an outstanding team in place to help me lead the transition process,” Chafee said. “Steve, Mike, Jon, and Judge Erickson were invaluable members of my successful campaign for governor, and I expect their considerable talent, knowledge, and enthusiasm will make this an excellent transition.”
