Riverside’s Robert Clancy Promoted to RIDOC Deputy Warden

Assistant Director of Institutions and Operations David McCauley is pleased to announce that Robert Clancy of Riverside has been promoted to Deputy Warden of the John J. Moran Medium Security Facility at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RIDOC), effective Sunday, January 2, 2011.

Deputy Clancy has been with the Department since July of 1982. He started as a Correctional Officer and worked his way up through the ranks. He was promoted to Correctional Officer Lieutenant in September of 1990 and to Correctional Officer Captain in December of 1997.

Deputy Clancy has worked in most of the RIDOC facilities during his tenure, including serving as Shift Commander of the state’s two largest facilities, the Anthony P. Travisono Intake Service Center, and the John J. Moran Medium Security Facility, where he has served as 3-day-rule Deputy Warden since July of 2010. Deputy Clancy holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rhode Island.
