Military-friendly Job Fair

More than two dozen employers will be recruiting at a Military-Friendly Job Fair, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, at the National Guard Armory, 541 Airport Road, Warwick. The job fair, organized jointly by the RI Red Cross, RI National Guard Military Family Program and the RI Department of Labor and Training/netWORKri one-stop career system, is free and open to military personnel, veterans and their families. Positions in customer service, construction, child care, education, engineering, financial services, insurance, technical support and security are available. Attendees should be prepared for an on-site interview and have résumé copies available. Dress is business casual. Parking is free. Employers scheduled to attend include: include AAA, Amica Mutual, Army National Guard, Aspen Aerogels, Banneker Industries, Cranston Arc, Electric Boat, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, John E. Fogarty Center, Fielding Manufacturing, G4S Secure Solutions, Gateway Healthcare, Gem Plumbing, GSM Metals, McLaughlin Research Group, MicroTech Staffing, NY Life Securities, Pioneer Financial, Primerica, Securitas, University of Phoenix, UPS and Waddell & Reed.

Education and training providers will also be available to answer questions about available programs. These include Arrowpoint Corp., Building Futures/Providence Plan and New England Tractor Trailer Training School.

Representatives from such service organization as the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, RI Hope, Small Business Administration and Veteran’s Affairs are also expected to attend.
