Providence County Grand Jury Interim Report (Reported September 23, 2011)

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out today indictments in relation to an April 5, 2011 attempted drug deal and assault in Providence.

David Diaz was indicted on one count of first degree robbery, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of simple assault and one count of conspiracy. Yelica DeJesus and Dennissa Porter were each indicted on one count of first degree robbery and conspiracy. Renee Porter and Leron Porter were each indicted on one count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. All are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 5, 2011.

Leron Porter was previously indicted on September 2, 2011 for murder and other charges in the death of Tiphany Tallo. Renee Porter, Dennissa Porter, and Yelica DeJesus were previously indicted on multiple counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy in the beating of Ashley Tallo.

Leron Porter is currently held without bail at the ACI. Renee Porter, who was initially charged by the Providence Police with robbery and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act in this case, is currently held without bail. Dennissa Porter is serving two years at the ACI as a probation violator. Yelica DeJesus is serving a six month sentence as a probation violator. David Diaz was released on $10,000 with surety bail.
