Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts' statement on the passing of former Senator June Gibbs
PROVIDENCE--"I am deeply saddened by the passing of June Gibbs, revered Senator and public servant, mentor and cherished friend. June was well-loved and embraced by her constituents in District 12 for each of the 24 years she served in the Rhode Island Senate. June was a dedicated champion of improving long-term care for seniors and child care for working families, and I was fortunate to work with her on many occasions. She was greatly admired for her ability to reach across party lines to get the work done. I offer my most sincere condolences to her family and friends, as she will be sorely missed."
