Advisory: Governor Chafee to Welcome Federal SAMHSA Administrator Pamela Hyde to Rhode Island

Providence, R.I. – Governor Lincoln Chafee, Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts and Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy will host a Mental Health Roundtable this Friday, bringing state leaders in mental health care and coverage together with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrator Pamela Hyde to address the integration of Mental Health Parity and National Health Reform.

As Rhode Island continues its nationally recognized efforts to implement the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the issues of implementing Mental Health Parity laws and integrating Mental Health Care into the Physical Health Care system present specific challenges. By connecting SAMHSA Administrator Hyde and those Rhode Islanders deeply involved in the issues of Mental Health, Rhode Island will identify and address the opportunities and challenges posed by national health reform.
