Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported October 5, 2012)

Randy Winfield, DOB: 4/30/88 33 William Ellery Place Providence, RI P1-2012-2805AG

James Goddard, DOB: 7/14/89 72 Adams Street Providence, RI P1-2012-2805 BG

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Randy Winfield and James Goddard each with one count of first degree robbery, three counts of simple assault, one count of felony assault, one count of discharging a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence and one count of carrying a carrying a firearm without a license.

It is alleged that one of about April 7, 2012, Winfield and Goddard conspired to commit robbery and did rob an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree. It is further alleged that the co-defendants assaulted the victim, as well as another individual. Additionally, it is alleged that the co-defendants assaulted the victim with a firearm they had no license to carry.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Winfield and Goddard are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 12, 2012.

Thomas Threats, DOB: 4/8/82 138 Sorrento Street Providence, RI P1-2012-2806A

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Thomas Threats with three counts of first degree child molestation, one count of indecent solicitation of a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

It is alleged that on or about multiple dates between March 1, 2012 and April 6, 2012 Threats sexually assaulted a child under the age of 14 years, with the assault being in the first degree. It is further alleged that Threats knowingly solicited a person under the age of 18 years, and that he contributed to the delinquency of a minor.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Threats has been held without bail since his arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 24, 2012.

Ravy Pires, DOB: 5/14/90 55 Merrill Street Providence, RI P1-2012-2807A

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Ravy Pires with one count of burglary and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

It is alleged that on or about November 13, 2011, Pires burglarized a home. It is further alleged that while committing the burglary, Pires assaulted three individuals with a firearm.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Pires has been held without bail since his arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 24, 2012.

Steven Cardosa, DOB: 8/28/68 LKA: 266 Park Place Woonsocket, RI P1-2012-2809A

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Steven Cardosa with one count of first degree robbery.

It is alleged that on or about June 30, 2012, Cardosa robbed an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree.

The alleged incident took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Cardosa is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 24, 2012.

Dru Werts, DOB: 10/27/93 580 East Avenue Pawtucket, RI P1-2012-2810A

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Dru Werts with one count of first degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about May, 2012, Werts and unnamed co-conspirators conspired to commit robbery. It is further alleged that Werts robbed an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence, and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Bail was set at $50,000 with surety, and as a condition of his bail Werts must abide by an 11:00pm curfew and must stay in enrolled school. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 24, 2012.
