On November 7, 2012, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Leonidas Medina, age 48, of 271 Washington Street, Providence, RI, for two counts each of the following offenses: 1) Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses; 2) Unauthorized Holdout as Qualified to Practice Law; 3) Agreement to Furnish Legal Services; 4) Solicitation of Business by Agents; 5) Compensation of Unqualified Persons for Legal Services; 6) Receipts of Fee as Practice of Law; and 7) Practice Restricted to Members of the Bar. Medina was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned in Sixth District Court before the Honorable Associate Judge McCaffrey and released on $10,000.00 personal recognizance.
On November 7, 2012, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Oscar Perez, age 29, of 2060 Mineral Spring Avenue, Apt #12, North Providence, RI, for the following offenses: 1) Possession of Schedule I/Crack Cocaine, 1 OZ - 1 Kilo; 2) Possession of Schedule I/Crack Cocaine with Intent; 3) Conspiracy to Possess Crack Cocaine W/Intent; and 4) Conspiracy to Possess Crack Cocaine, 1 OZ - 1Kilo. Perez was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace and held without bail.
