R.I. State Police Arrests Seven Subjects for Driving While Intoxicated on New Year's Eve

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announces that as a result of our efforts to continue to make our highways safer, members of the Rhode Island State Police have arrested seven (7) subjects for Driving While Intoxicated on New Year's Eve.

The following is a list of subjects, who were arrested and their pending charges:

Anup Mohanty, age 25, of 20 Falcon Circle, East Greenwich, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs(BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test

Silverio Hernandez, age 36, of 318 Manton Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs(BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test • Operating Without a License

Anthony DiGiovengiacomo, age 40, of 19 Duxbury Street, Providence, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence(Phase I .175, Phase II .173)

Viriato Baptista, age 24, of 52 Samuel Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence(Phase I .144, Phase II .138)

Lauren Dennehy, age 23, of 10 Farmhill Road, Wrentham, Massachusetts • Duty to Stop-Accident Resulting- Damage to Attended Vehicle • Driving Under the Influence(Phase I .141, Phase II .145)

Vincente Sanabria, age 38, of 850 Broad Street, Central Falls, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence(Phase I .192, Phase II .195) • Driving Without a License

Agustin Riz, age 29, of 75 Elmdale Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island • Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs(BAC Unknown) • Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test • Driving Without a License

The Rhode Island State Police will continue to aggressively enforce the motor vehicle laws with increased emphasis on speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt, and child restraint violations. We believe that by continuing these enforcement efforts, it makes the highways safe for all travelers.

Motorists are reminded that they can immediately report dangerous drivers or hazardous roadway conditions to the police by dialing 911 or *77 on your cell phone.
