Over 50 Defendants Arrested; Arraignments to be Held at 2:00 p.m. Today with Press Conference at 4:00 p.m.

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announces that today the Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and local police fanned out and arrested dozens of subjects for affidavit and arrest warrants as well as Superior and District Court warrants.

The defendants will be brought to Providence County Superior and District Courts for arraignments at 2:00 p.m. We suggest members of the media utilize pool cameras, because there will be over 50 defendant arraigned simultaneously at both Superior and District Courts.

Some of these arraignments will also include new charges for possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and possession of firearms.
